News of the week

This week I bought a new virtual calender. It's a php script called Tasks Pro and I've now uploaded it to one of my domains. The script was a bit expensive but I don't doubt it will be worth the money. I allready feel that I'm able to structure my work on different tasks much better.

I've also finished a new Danish auction site at Alletiders-Internet.dk where people can buy and sell domains. A bit like Sedo - just more simple and then it's absolutely free!

At friday I experimentet with one of my newsletters. Normally I sent out newsletters in the beginning or middle of the week which I also did this week. But in addition to this I sent out a second newsletter at friday with recipes for the weekend. This was a great succes so it's defenitely a possibility in the future to.

Tomorrow it's my mother's 50 years birtday so I will but the work aside and spend the day with my family.

Switching from Eudora to Thunderbird

I've spent the last couple of days switching e-mail software from Eudora to Thunderbird. Apparently this takes quite some time. Though Thunderbird has an import function, I couldn't import all my e-mails from Eudora (Thunderbird had trouble reading more than 1000 of my e-mails). Furthermore it wasn't possible to import the exact folder structure, so I had to rebuild this manually. Allmost done with this I got really scared. Suddenly all my mails and folders i Thunderbird were gone. Fortunately I was able to solve this problem to. Finally I've experienced problems with sudden errors in Thunderbird followed by immidiate exit from the program.

Hopefully this is a one time "pleasure". Else I will be forced to switch e-mail software again.

Blogger.com archive problem

Do you have problems with your blog archives using blogger.com on your own domain. Well I found out that I did! Apparently the archive files were not uploadet to my webserver because I did not had specified the "archive path" in my blogger.com control panel. This causes problems if you FTP path is everything else than "/".
My FTP path is "public_html/" and therefore I also had to set "Archive path" to "public_html/" (Blogger.com doesn't do this by default).

Bulk link popularity checker and linkbuilding site in progress

I'm very satisfied with my work today. Besides the dayly rutines I've reached pretty far with my new linkbuilding site. Hopefully it will be ready for beta testing in a couple of weeks.

Furthermore I've almost finished implementing a bulk link popularity checker. It's a great and time saving tool! For instance this tool makes it possible to check the link popularity of all your competitors at the same time.

Hire staff?

As you can read in my previous posts I’m working on way to many projects (I just can’t help it). Clearly it’s impossible for me to give all these projects the attention they deserve. Therefore I’ve thought about hiring some staff. I don’t doubt that I have the funds to do so. The one thing that keeps me from doing it is my fear of time consuming administration and paperwork.

Therefore I’ve now contacted a couple of companies who specialize in handling the administration. I’m very excited to hear if they can help me, how much they can do, and at what cost?

Of course I’ll get back to you when I know more on this subject.
